Foil Baked Tilapia

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup onion minced
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon or lime juice
  • 1 lb of tilapia fillets or your fish of choice
  • Nonstick cooking spray
  • 1 tablespoon butter melted
  • 1 tablespoon bacon grease melted
  • 1 tablespoon cilantro
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper


  • Preheat oven to 400deg. Spray aluminum foil with nonstick cooking oil. Place individual fillets in the center of the foil and sprinkle with juice, onion, celery, salt, pepper and a dash of cilantro. Mix bacon grease and butter and sprinkle over each fillet. Lift the sides of the foil and pinch at the center, sealing tightly. Place each foil on baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes. Serve while hot.
